Compress images

Reduce file size for easier sharing.

Your image, a little better.

JPEG, PNG or WebP · up to 20 MB · 36 megapixels

Make it yours

1 KB = 1,000 bytes. Use the maximum size stated on your form. JPEG or WebP works best for smaller files.

Lower quality usually makes a smaller file.

JPEG uses a white background for transparent areas. PNG quality is lossless; the quality slider does not apply to PNG.

What does your form need?

Follow the requirements shown on your own form.
01 / PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Your photos stay yours.

Processing runs on your device. We do not upload your images to a processing server.

02 / READY TO SHARE

Made for form uploads.

Enter the size and dimensions requested by your application form. Keep your original, preview the result and download a new copy.

03 / JUST THE ESSENTIALS

Open it. Use it. Done.

No account, installation or watermark. Works in modern mobile and desktop browsers.

Does this guarantee my application photo will be accepted?

No. Check the specific form’s file format, minimum and maximum file size, dimensions, background, face position and other requirements. This tool changes file properties; it does not certify identity-photo compliance. Near-white paper removal is available, but it does not remove complex photo backgrounds.

A few helpful answers

Which image formats can I use?

Upload JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 20 MB and 36 million pixels. Animated formats, SVG and HEIC are not supported. Output sizes are limited to 36 million pixels and 10,000 pixels per side.

Will my image always become smaller?

No. File size depends on the original image, output format, quality and dimensions. The result shows the actual size change. Lower quality or smaller dimensions often help.

What happens to transparency and metadata?

PNG and supported WebP exports preserve transparency. JPEG replaces it with white. Canvas export does not intentionally copy EXIF metadata; do not rely on this as a complete privacy audit. Always keep your original.

Using Compress Images

Choose a photo, enter a maximum KB size, set quality and check the result.

Example: A photo for a form with a 100 KB limit

  1. Choose your photo and enter 100 in the maximum size field. Keep the original separately.
  2. Run compression and check the reported output size. If it is still too large, allow smaller dimensions or lower the quality.
  3. Open the downloaded photo and check that faces and small text remain clear. A target is not a guarantee.

Crop and adjust before exporting

After choosing an image, use the crop box, drag its corners or enter exact crop pixels. Adjust brightness, contrast, saturation or grayscale. For signatures on white paper, try near-white paper removal and export PNG or WebP for transparency. Use Prepare image and inspect the final preview before downloading. All edits run on your device.

What to check before sharing

Very small targets may require smaller dimensions or reduced quality; targets are not guaranteed.
